Congratulation to Brian Chen who made his D at IFA Open on Tuesday, October 7. Brian took third place. He lost Paul Shculman for top 2.
Congratulation to Paul Schulman, the winner of IFA Open. We had 27 fencers at that tournament.
Yury Gelman is the three time Olympic Coach for the United States (Sydney, Athens and Beijing), National Men’s Sabre Coach who lead US team to silver medals at Olympics in Beijing, and Head Fencing Coach for NCAA Champion St. John’s University (‘01). In addition, Yury is an honor coach of Ukraine. He received a Masters degree in both Physical Education and fencing from Kiev Institute of Physical Education.
His students won gold, silver and bronze at Cadet and Junior World Championships and many medals in junior and senior World Cups including winning in individual and team Grand Prize. He prepared members of Cadet, Junior and Senior National team every year since ‘95.
3 hours program is designed for intermediate/advanced fencers. Full uniform required.
Fee - $75 IFA members, $100 non-members

Island Fencing Academy resumed its Open Sabre Nights. We plan to run these events on the first Tuesdays of each month. First IFA Sabre Open is scheduled for October 7, 2008

National Olympic Coach Yury Gelman, IFA co-owner will run coaches clinics at IFA. Details will be posted on our web site soon.
Congratulations to IFA fencer Sarah Pak - top 32 at the Cadet World Cup in Konin, Poland! More than 120 fencers from around the world participated.
